Before the electronic age and Global Positioning System (GPS), sailors relied on the ship’s marine chronometer for safe navigation.
Longitude was calculated by comparing the local solar time with the home port time kept on the chronometer. These instruments were crafted with meticulous care and underwent a rigorous certification process.
The Atelier Techné Isograph evokes these precision timekeepers with its minimalist sector dial and blue hands.
